(KMOV.com) – Police said three teens are in custody and two others are on the loose after a jogger was robbed when he stopped to give directions near Carondelet Park in south St. Louis early Thursday morning.

Authorities said a 23-year-old man and his friend were jogging in the 6200 block of Leona around 12:15 a.m. when two females, 15 and 17, pulled up in a car and asked for directions.

Police said when the victim approached the vehicle, three male teens who were on foot assaulted him and took his cell phone.

All five suspects then got into the vehicle and drove away.

Authorities said a short time later officers located the vehicle and took a 17-year-old man and the two females into custody.

Police said they did not recover the stolen cell phone at that time.

Authorities said the other two suspects remain at large.

The victim was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
