JENNINGS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – After canceling classes on Monday, the Jennings School District has announced it will begin the school year Tuesday.

On Monday, classes were canceled because of the danger students walking to school could encounter along the way after a night of rioting and looting throughout the area.

The nearby Ferguson-Florissant School District plans to start school on Thursday as scheduled. The district says it is currently reviewing safety and security measures as well as coordinating grief counselors and other resources for students affected by the officer-involved shooting that killed 18-year-old Michael Brown.
