Jackknifed semi-truck shuts down all lanes of I-44 near Six Flags

All eastbound lanes of Interstate 44 were closed in west St. Louis County due to a jackknifed tractor-trailer Thursday morning.

(KMOV) – All eastbound lanes of Interstate 44 were closed in west St. Louis County due to a jackknifed tractor-trailer Thursday morning.

The incident happened on the interstate near Six Flags in Eureka around 6:20 a.m.

All lanes were shut down as the truck was spread out from median to shoulder. Crews responded to the scene and eventually got the tractor trailer off the interstate, though the roadway remained closed until about 8:20 a.m.

At one point, traffic was at a complete standstill and backed up for about five miles.
