Inmate charged with flooding cell at St. Louis County jail

(KMOV) – A St. Louis County inmate faces charges after he allegedly broke a sprinkler head and allowed his cell to flood with water.

Jeffrey Cornelius, 23, was charged Friday with damaging jail property.

According to police, Cornelius was in custody since May 28 for violating his probation.

Police said he had been on probation for robbery and assault charges from earlier in May.
