CHICAGO (AP) -- The Illinois Treasurer's Office might be able to help you with holiday gift ideas.

State officials are using eBay to auctioning off 60 items -- including jewelry, watches, coins and collectibles.

The items have come from abandoned safety deposit boxes at financial institutions. State law says if owners can't be located in a five-year period, the contents go to the state treasurer's office.

The items will be auctioned on eBay and can be located through the office Web site at www.treasurer.il.gov.

Last year the auction generated more than $77,000 in sales.
