(KMOV) – The Humane Society rescued a dog after it was found locked inside a scorching-hot car parked outside the St. Louis Zoo on Tuesday.
Officials say the internal temperature of the car was about 104 degrees when the Corgi mix was discovered around 10:30 a.m.
St. Louis police and investigators with the Animal Cruelty Task Force acted quickly and removed the dog from the vehicle.
The dog was transported to the Humane Society of Missouri, where she was treated for overheating and dehydration.
