Suspects sought after teen ambushed, killed in St. Louis

(KMOV) –  Police continue to search for two suspects after a teenager was shot and killed near Fairground Park Thursday evening.

According to St. Louis police, 19-year-old Jose Johnson was shot multiple times near the intersection of Natural Bridge and Harris at approximately 3 p.m.

Police say Johnson was in the 3600 block of Harris when he was approached by two men in a grey or black car. They began shooting at Johnson as he ran south on Harris toward Auto Zone in the 4100 block of Lexington.

Authorities say at one point one of the suspects got out of the vehicle and fired at least 18 shots at Johnson.

Johnson, who was not armed, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
