FESTUS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Marine Corporal Justin McLoud became a triple amputee after he was injured by an IED blast in Afghanistan two years ago.
On Saturday, the organization "Homes for Our Troops" presented Cpl. McLoud with a new, specially adapted home.
"I was sitting in the hospital, or actually laying in the hospital, wondering like, 'What am I gonna do about a house?'" Cpl. McLoud said. "You know, because a lot of houses out in Missouri, you have a basement. So, basically, I only would have been able to go within half of my house, you know, so that was always the biggest worry."
"Homes for Our Troops" is a national non-profit organization dedicated to building specially adapted homes for severely injured veterans.
This Christmas season, the group is presenting homes to seven veterans in six states.
The project for Cpl. McLoud was partially funded by a $100,000 donation from the Missouri Credit Union Association.
