MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Harrah’s St. Louis is now officially called Hollywood Casino St. Louis.
The name change comes as Penn National Gaming, Inc. took over ownership of the casino and management. The casino retained 1,250 jobs and will add more than 85 new positions in addition to 35 management positions.
The casino also plans to add 435 new slot machines as part of a $61 million renovation that will be completed in 2013.
Hollywood Casino celebrated the change with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday morning.
According to the company’s website, Harrah’s St. Louis casino chips can be redeemed through January 31, 2013. All Harrah’s Fast Cash Tickets are no longer valid at the slot machines, but can be redeemed at Cashier’s Cage inside the casino.
