PINE LAWN, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A Hillsdale officer that returned fire on a suspect early Saturday morning is on administrative leave pending further investigation.
Police say they were called to the 6100 block of Greer for a noise complaint around 2:00 a.m. Officers reportedly saw a subject hiding something in his waistband before fleeing the area.
Police say officers followed the suspect, who then fired several rounds at them. One officer fired back and shot the suspect. Police are not releasing the suspect's condition.
The officer was placed on leave pending a St. Louis County Police investigation.
