DOGTOWN (KMOV) – Police arrested a man at a home across the street from an elementary school in Dogtown on Wednesday.
Authorities said after numerous neighbor complaint, officers went to a home in the 1400 block of Tamm Ave. to make an arrest. According to News 4 sources, the home has been known as a problem property for quite a while.
Police said the suspect gave consent for officers to search their house. During the search, police found a golfball-size amount of heroin.
The house is located just across the street from St. James the Greater elementary school.
Neighbors said while it was not the first time police have been there lately, it seems to be the only time they’ve actually made an arrest.
“People talk to each other and when there’s a problem, they let everyone else know there’s a problem going on and we take care of it and I think it’s worked again and all the credit really goes to the neighbors who pay attention to this stuff,” said 24th Ward Alderman Scott Ogilvie.
