(KMOV) – The Hazelwood School District on Monday began a new program to provide food to students in need.

The “Food For Thought” program will give students who don’t have regular access to nutritious food at home with a reliable source of food for when they are not in school.

“Many students come to school hungry each day,” said Angie Carey, Missouri PTA regional director and Hazelwood School District PTA Council board director.

The Food For Thought pantries will be housed at Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East and Hazelwood West. It will be used to support all students in the district who are in need.
