(KMOV) – A Hazelwood man faces charges for his alleged involvement in a road rage incident in his own neighborhood in December.

Hazelwood Police say Thomas J. Mackiewicz followed another driver on southbound Villa Maria, got angry and aggressive, and displayed a semi-automatic pistol.

The victim called police and officers then tracked down the suspect, later identified as Mackiewicz. A gun was not recovered but they found a box of ammunition.

It is still unclear what the motive was but police say the victim and suspect live in the same general area, and are familiar with each other.

Mackiewicz was charged with unlawful use of a weapon.
