ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Marchers gathered outside of City Hall in St. Louis Tuesday to march to the U.S. Attorney’s Office downtown as part of the #HandsUp Global Day of Action.

The marchers were seeking justice for Mike Brown and Kajieme Powell, both young unarmed black men killed by police earlier in the month.

Residents from Ferguson and the St. Louis area demanded accountability for abuses carried out by St. Louis City Police while deployed in Ferguson. The marchers also demanded individuals who participated in the protests in Ferguson who are still held in jail be released immediately.

The group marched to U.S. Attorney Richard Callahan’s office in hopes of pushing the Department of Justice to implement a nationwide investigation into police brutality and harassment in black communities.
