ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – Smoke billowing at a downtown St. Louis hotel forced guests to evacuate early Wednesday morning.
According to reports, smoke was seen coming from a room on the 2nd floor of the Ramada Plaza at 9th and Convention just before 1 a.m.
Guests were taken to the lobby as firefighters contained the smoke. Officials investigated and determined there was no fire.
According to an official with the hotel, ‘everything is back to normal’ after it was determined the smoke was caused by a heating element in one of the rooms.
