(KMOV) -- A group of Kirkwood residents will hold a meeting Wednesday night as they work to change the reputation of a crime-ridden neighborhood.

Meacham Park has had plenty of issues with crime over the years. That’s why the Community for Understanding and Hope, the Meacham Park Neighborhood Association and the Kirkwood Human Rights Commission are instituting a “Weed and Seed” forum to help residents report problems in the neighborhood.

The meeting will be held at Eliot Chapel in Kirkwood at 7 p.m.

Organizers tell the Webster-Kirkwood Times their aim is making the people of Kirkwood feel accepted and know they can live, work and play together without feeling prejudice.

Police say they are on board with the effort.
