GRANITE CITY, Il (KMOV.com) – Madison County Sheriff’s Department officers arrested a Granite City woman Monday following a response to a domestic disturbance call.

Police said Charolette Giger, 34, and a man were allegedly involved in a domestic dispute at a home in the 2400 block of Angela Drive.

When officers arrived, Giger reportedly began yelling at them and refused to follow any orders. She was arrested for obstructing a peace officer, and when placed inside a squad car she began kicking the inside of the vehicle.

When an officer attempted to subdue her, Giger allegedly kicked him in the shoulder. She is being held in the Madison County Jail on $40,000 bond pending a full review of the facts.

The officer was not seriously injured.
