(KMOV)-- There is a new option for those in danger of losing their homes to foreclosure.
Anyone living in Missouri with a looming threat of foreclosure can apply for the Emergency Homeowners’ Loan Program by July 22.
Eligible applicants must be at least 90 days past due in mortgage payments and have decreased income because of loss employment, medical bills, or divorce.
The program is administered through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, or HUD, and offers up to $50,000 in interest-free forgivable loans or grants.
