ST. LOUIS—Area residents can get their income taxes done for free at an event being held on the St. Louis Community College campus.

Accountants are donating their time Wednesday evening to help people who make less than $50,000 a year. The event is being held at the William J. Harrison Center on St. Louis Community College campus on Cass Avenue beginning at 5 p.m.

The accountant will help the first 40 people who show up.

“For people in this neighborhood, they need every dollar refund they can get.  We’re here to make sure people don’t miss any deductions, any refunds or anything that deals with taxes. We’re here to do it for them,” said Kenneth Stone with the St. Louis Comptroller’s Office.
