ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- The saucer-shaped former Del Taco building near St. Louis University's campus has reopened -- as a Starbucks.
The coffee chain opened the doors to its new location Friday morning, and business appeared to be booming.
The owner and developer of the property told News 4 in March that rumors about Starbucks or Chipotle moving into the building were untrue.
Rick Yackey, who owned the property on 212 S. Grand, said he was talking to “a lot of people,” but no lease agreement had been worked out.
Last year, preservationist groups formed to fight the demolition of the building after Del Taco moved out.
