(KMOV) – A Florissant girl missing for more than a week was located at a family member’s house in north St. Louis on Thursday.
Dominique Cherry-Jones, 15, was reported missing Oct. 2. Authorities say they spent over 300 “man hours” in an attempt to find her.
The news comes after her family this week held a rally to shed more light on her case. The family initially said they wished authorities had issued an Amber Alert for her disappearance, but police maintained they followed the national criteria in making their decision not to use one.
When it comes to declaring an Amber Alert, there are four things that must be met first. There has to be a reasonable possibility the child was abducted, the child must be seventeen or younger. There has to be good descriptive information on the child, a vehicle and the suspect abductor.
The Florissant Police Department said at no point did they believe Cherry-Jones was in danger.
