(KMOV.com) – The first medical marijuana farm ever in the Metro-East has now been approved with an affirmative vote being cast Monday night.
The St. Clair County Board voted to move ahead with a 14 acre operation near Marissa, Illinois.
The company, called Nature’s Care, is planning to build the facility and it could add 30 jobs to the area.
In terms of security, the company wants to pay to have St. Clair County Sheriff’s patrol and a new squad car.
Despite the board’s vote, the state will still need to approve the plan.
