(KMOV.com) – One woman was injured after strong winds caused the roof of her home to blow off in Troy, Mo. Thursday evening.

Firefighters told News 4 the roof was ripped off a home in the 1400 block of Bishop Drive around 5:30 p.m.

Homeowner Al Horn told News 4 the garage door was open when strong winds ripped through the house taking much of the roof with it.

Horn said he had just stepped out of the shower when the damage occurred. He said his wife, who was hit by debris, warned him about what took place. Horn said he and his grandson then immediately called 911.

Horn's wife was taken to a nearby hospital, but is expected to be alright.
