(KMOV.com) – A man was hospitalized after a relative shot him in the Central West End during an altercation over the Super Bowl early Monday morning.

According to police, a 47-year-old was shot in the leg by his 50-year-old relative at a home in the 4900 block of Washington Ave. about 12:45 a.m. Police say the suspect then flourished his gun at another man in the house before fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument about Sunday’s night’s game between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos. Authorities say both men had been drinking and were intoxicated when the incident occurred.

It was not known how the two men were related.

Police say they continue to search for the suspect, who has been listed as “wanted.”
