(KMOV.com) -- Residents in a mobile home park in Festus were nervously watching the forecast on Friday night, as steady rain brought lake water closer to their homes.
"Lakeside Manor" is named for a body of water in the middle of the park. As storms continued to dump heavy rain on the area, water from the lake flooded a basketball court and part of a street.
The mobile home park's 200 residents were told to evacuate three weeks ago, when rains swelled a nearby creek and caused flash flooding.
"This is working class people that live in here, so anytime there's any kind of loss, it's heart-wrenching," said Kym Brockes, a resident of the park.
Other residents told News 4 they are just hoping the steady rain will stop.
