ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – There might be some new hope for a north St. Louis County father trying to prove how his daughter died in Iraq five years ago.
Later this month, the Cold case Investigative Research Institute in Philadelphia plans to release its findings about the death of Private Lavena Johnson.
Her father says the institute’s independent study proves she was murdered. The Pentagon insists Johnson died from a self-inflicted gunshot.
Johnson says he hopes the news can spur a congressional investigation. He believes that would uncover the real story about his daughter’s death.
