Stanton, Missouri (KMOV) – A 75-year-old Richmond Heights man was killed after traveling the wrong way on Interstate 44 in Stanton, Missouri early Wednesday morning.

Authorities said Roy Blair was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 44 when a car swerved to avoid him, sideswiping into a tractor trailer. Police said Blair continued driving, striking two other vehicles.

Blair was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Authorities said they believe Blair drove at least five miles in the wrong direction.

Four people were transported to area hospitals with moderate to severe injuries.

All eastbound lanes of the interstate were closed while crews investigated the accident.
