ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Multiple families were displaced after a four-family flat in south St. Louis caught fire Wednesday morning.
According to reports, fire crews were called to the scene in the 3500 block of Miami around 6:45 a.m.
Officials said everyone evacuated the building after smoke alarms alerted the residents about the danger. No injuries were reported.
The fire reportedly started in the basement. Due to the quick action of fire personnel, the fire was contained to the basement.
Eight people who lived directly above the fire were allowed back into their unit due to damage caused by the fire. The Red Cross responded to assist the families.
