ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – With the St. Louis Cardinals making another trip to the National League Championship Series, thousands of fans will be purchasing tickets from scalpers.

But some people are being sold fake tickets that look authentic, leaving them out of hundreds of dollars.

News 4 obtained two tickets to Game 6 of the 2011 World Series. Unfortunately, the person who bought one of them didn’t get in. And the person who sold it was arrested right outside of Carmine’s Steak House on Broadway and taken to jail.

Rob Fasoldt, the director of ticket sales at Busch Stadium, says it’s hard to tell which ones are real, but there are some slight differences.

The bar code, for example, is darker on the fake ticket. And the color of the real ticket is lighters.

Regardless, whenever you buy a ticket from a scalper, you’re taking a chance.

“What we can tell you is if you purchase tickets through us at Cardinals.com or Stub Hub, we can guarantee those are valid,” said Fasoldt.
