JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV) – An elderly man was struck and killed late Monday night while standing along side a Jefferson County highway.
Police say the victim, Irvin Emerson, 92, was struck on Route A just west of Burning Tree Lane shortly before 6 p.m.
The accident happened when Emerson got out of his vehicle to assess his car and the possible damage done in a previous accident. As he examined his vehicle, Emerson walked into the path of an oncoming vehicle driven by Treena Fults, 42.
Emerson was pronounced dead at the scene. Fults, driving a Honda Accord was not injured in the accident.
