ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – An 84-year-old Korean War veteran was uninjured after a wall collapsed inside his home Friday afternoon.

Two stories of an exterior wall collapsed inside a home in the 4500 block of Enright around 2:00 p.m.

William Sutherlin, the home’s sole occupant, told News 4 he was taking a nap when the wall collapsed.

Sutherlin said he had plans to have the wall repaired prior to the collapse, and even received a bid from a contractor Thursday.

Sutherlin and his wife, who passed away several years ago, raised all 11 of their children in the home. Despite the incident, Sutherlin said he plans to rebuild and move back into his home. For the time being, he will be staying with relatives.
