BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV) -- An East St. Louis man who has been convicted of eight different felony offenses was found guilty of robbery by force on Tuesday afternoon.

Cortez L. Hibbler, 40, is accused of taking a wallet from another man by force on June 1 at the John DeShields Federal Housing Project in East St. Louis.

Officials say because Hibler has a long history of criminal activity, he will be sentenced as a Class X offender. This means he will face a mandatory prison sentence between six to thirty years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
