COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A driver was arrested for DUI after he was ejected from his vehicle during a wreck on Interstate 255 in Collinsville early Tuesday.

Police said the 31-year-old man was driving on northbound I-255 near Collinsville Road when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a guard rail.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle after it flipped over. Police said the vehicle was on fire when authorities arrived on scene.

The driver was taken to St. Louis University Hospital for treatment and arrested for DUI. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, according to officials.

A witness told authorities the driver appeared to be speeding just before the crash.
