On Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, a judge will hear arguments about the admissibility of the state's new hearsay law to the Peterson's case. He is charged in the death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, and is also a suspect in the disappearance of his fourth wife. The law would essentially allow Savio to testify from the grave by admitting testimony of family and friends about how she feared Peterson might kill her. (AP Photo/M. Spencer Green, File)

OAK BROOK, Ill. (AP) -- Drew Peterson's son has been fired from a suburban Chicago police department after officials found him guilty of misconduct.

The Oak Brook Board of Fire and Police Commissioners ruled Saturday that Stephen Peterson failed to disclose information to law enforcement about the disappearance of his stepmother, Stacy Peterson.

He was cleared of other charges, including possession of an unlawful weapon and failing to keep an internal investigation confidential.

Drew Peterson, a former Bolingbrook police sergeant, is charged with murder in the death of his third wife and is a suspect in the disappearance of Stacy Peterson, his fourth wife.

Stephen Peterson was suspended in August after he testified that he hid several of his father's guns after Stacy Peterson's disappearance.

His lawyer says he'll appeal his firing.
