ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Traffic on westbound I-70 was backed up early Sunday morning due to a crash that left a car on fire.
Witnesses say two cars were drag racing when one vehicle crashed just a quarter mile before the Riverview exit around 4:30 a.m.
According to witnesses, four occupants got out of the crashed vehicle and jumped into the car they were racing, then sped away.
Witnesses also helped an unconscious man out of a burning car. His condition is unknown.
I-70 was shut down to clear the accident. Drivers were diverted to the Union exit.
Police have not confirmed the cause of the accident.
