(KMOV) – Dozens of fish were left for dead in front of Forest Park’s Jewel Box.
A wedding photographer snapped several photos of the dead fish during a photo shoot at the Jewel Box last weekend, which showed drained ponds and the suffocating fish.
The St. Louis Water Gardening Society maintains the ponds.
The city warned the organization that the ponds would be drained for the winter, and volunteers with the organization moved hundreds of fish to other ponds, but apparently missed several.
The group apologized for the oversight.
