There's still a lot of grass to be cut before you can pack away the Lawn Boy for the winter. But if you're not careful you'll be without a way to keep your lawn looking nice. Thieves are stealing lawn mowers from open garages in south St. Louis.

There's been a rash of thefts from garages with the doors left open in the Southampton Neighborhood on Winona, Tholozan, Mardel and Miami Street. Thieves are stealing lawn equipment and tools.

St. Louis Police caught and arrested on suspected garage thief. He's 25 year old Bradley Cobb. The Circuit Attorney's Office issued warrants for 2nd degree burglary and stealing for three thefts at three separate homes.

But the takeaway lesson from these crimes is that you need to make sure you close your garage door. If you're working in the yard, take a garage door opener out of your car and keep it with you. But, by all means, make sure the garage door is closed at night.
