(KMOV.com) – A service van driver from St. Louis was killed when he rear-ended a semi truck on Interstate 170 Thursday afternoon.

According to officers, a semi truck and a DirecTV service vehicle collided in the northbound lanes of I- 170 near Page Avenue at 2 p.m. 

According to the police report, the semi truck was experiencing mechanicial issues and was traveling at a lower rate of speed with the flashers on when the driver of the DirecTV van slammed into the back of the  truck. 

The driver of the DirecTV van, 35-year-old Anthony Graciani, was transported to an area hospital where he later died. He was reportedly not wearing his seat belt. 

The driver of the semi truck was not injured.

The two right lanes of northbound 170 were closed until around 4 p.m.
