(KMOV) – A face-tattooed man is accused of stealing at least $1,000 worth of property from dozens of storage sheds in Godfrey, Ill. in February.

Adam Roberts, 24, was charged Friday with three felony counts of burglary.

Authorities said on Feb. 17, deputies responded to reports that someone had broken into 28 storage sheds at Self Storage, located in the 2700 block of Godfrey Rd.

Deputies said they noticed the burglar had cut through the chain link fence surrounding the facility before stealing electronics, video gaming equipment, televisions and other household items.

On Wednesday, investigators said information led them to Roberts, but they were unable to locate him initially because he had moved out.

Deputies said that’s when they found more evidence at the vacant home linking the burglary to Roberts.

Authorities said on Thursday officers located Roberts at a home in the 3000 block of Edsall Street in Alton.

Deputies said they questioned Roberts and took him into custody, where he remains on $60,000 bond.

Authorities said they have recovered about $1,000 worth of items stolen items. While most of the recovered property has been identified, deputies said several pieces of jewelry, watches and some DVDS have not yet been linked to a victim.

Deputies said Roberts also sold some of the stolen items.

Investigators said they are still looking for several belongings, including a black compact refrigerator, televisions, fishing equipment, professional wrestling DVD’s, paintings, an antique chest of drawers, an oval mirror and a sewing machine.

Anyone who believes they may have purchased items from Roberts since Feb. 17 is asked to contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at 618-692-4433.
