(KMOV) – A St. Peters resident is fed up after raw sewage leaked into her home for the third time in one month following a heavy rain.

The backup is coming from the Dardenne Creek just south of Interstate 70 and it floods raw sewage into nearby basements after large amounts of rain falls.

The City of St. Peters told News 4 that this neighborhood is a low-lying area and the area has been overwhelmed with rain this year.

City officials are dismissing concerns that development in the area is to blame for raw sewage filling the basement of Stephanie Gastler and other residents.

The city has offered to pay for clean-up and will install a device in an effort to keep this from happening again.
