ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) -- The Missouri Department of Transportation to close portions of Interstate 64 Friday night as crews work on the inside lanes through St. Louis.
Starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, crews will close the left, inside lanes of I-64 between Sarah and Kingshighway to fill in the rumble strips.
The ramp from Vandeventer to westbound I-64 will also be closed during this work for the safety of the crew.
All lanes will be reopened by 6 p.m. Saturday so fans can get to the Scottrade Center for the first game of the St. Louis Blues’ abbreviated season.
According to MoDOT, this work must be done before crews shut down the interstate January 25-28 when they plan to remove the Taylor and Newstead bridges.
Once the bridges are removed and the interstate is reopened, lanes between Sarah and Kingshighway, in both directions, will be narrowed and shifted.
The cold temperatures should not impact the projected construction and closures.
