EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV.com) – A crew was called to the scene of a water main break in East St. Louis Tuesday afternoon after water was seen gushing from the street.

According to reports, the break happened near the intersection of 20th and State streets. A crew from Illinois American Water responded to contain the bust.

At one point, water could be seen shooting nearly 30-feet in the air.

Crews were not sure what caused the break or if anyone was out water service for any extended period of time.
