CHICAGO (AP) -- Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart says he's skeptical after news that Craigslist apparently closed the adult services section of its website.

The move came two weeks after 17 state attorneys general demanded it shut down the section.

Dart says the website is used to destroy the lives of abused women. He says he's not optimistic that the adult services section has entirely ended.

The section had been replaced Saturday by a black and white "censored" logo.

Craigslist didn't immediately return an e-mail seeking comment.

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, one of the AGs who pressed for the change, said in a written statement that he welcomed the change and was trying to verify Craigslist's official policy going forward.
