(KMOV.com) - An important step to keep traffic going on the low Mississippi River has been completed.
On Monday, the Army Corps of Engineers said it completed its work to remove rocks and deepen the shipping channel near Thebes, IL. The Corps says the work has been finished ahead of schedule.
The Corps says the project will give barges more room to deliver products on Mississippi River.
