(KMOV) – Recent street brawls has some St. Louis residents concerned that youth violence could reach critical levels just as they did more than 20 years ago in the summer of 1993.
Experts say unlike gangs in the 1990s where violence centered around drugs, these groups have one purpose; to fight.
Now there are fears that with the rising temperatures, there could be a rise in violent group crime.
News 4’s Sharon Reed talked with city leaders to see what they plan to do to prevent a spark in group violence on St. Louis City streets.
