Collinsville man faces charges for allegedly stalking woman

COLLINSVILLE, IL. (KMOV.com) – Police say a Collinsville man is now facing charges after he allegedly stalked a woman and broke into a church in Glen Carbon, Illinois.

Police in Edwardsville say the suspect, Angel J. Granados, 24, was allegedly stalking his victim in July. The victim of the stalking said she called police after she kept hearing noises behind her house. She says she was later confronted by Granados and given a threatening letter from the suspect.

The victim also claims Granados allegedly poured paint on her car and left another note from the suspect’s girlfriend, threatening her.

Granados has also been charged for allegedly breaking into Gateway Family Church in Glen Carbon multiple times, stealing various electronic items between May 30 and August 9.

Granados has been charged with alleged stalking, alleged criminal damage to property, and alleged burglary charges. Granados’ bond for the alleged stalking incidents was set at $75,000 and $60,000 in the alleged burglary incidents. He must also remain 1,500 feet from the victim of the stalking at all times.

The first hearing for Granados’ charges has been set for September 5.
