(KMOV.com) -- The Collinsville Police said they are stepping up patrols at a water park after multiple thefts and car break-ins.
Collinsville Police said they will use unmarked police officers and cars to control thieves at the Splash City Water Park.
Police reported several car break-ins at the Golden Corral restaurant and the water park. However police said the break-ins are usually rare because the parking lots are routinely patrolled.
Police are warning people who go to the water park should be vigilant with their possessions because thieves have been able to grab items easily from cars. Police said in one instance a purse was sitting in plain sight in a parked car.
With the summer season here, police said more customers will be ready to spend the day at the pool and police said people can expect to see more officers.
