EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) -- Authorities say an East St. Louis store clerk being robbed by six armed men opened fire, killing one of the suspects.

Investigators say 26-year-old Larando King was killed in the shooting Thursday at a Quality Food Mart.

Police say the suspects forced their way in through the locked doors, and three of them jumped on the 21-year-old male clerk and tried to disarm him. But the clerk managed to shoot King.

Investigators say they've seized video surveillance of the store that confirms the attack.

The clerk's name hasn't been released. Police say he sustained minor injuries.
