ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Saint Louis City is making sure all tornado sirens are operating properly.
Today, officials tested one in the Soulard neighborhood.
The city received reports one of the sirens in the Soulard neighborhood went off Thursday when it wasn’t supposed to sound.
As it turns out, one of the speakers isn’t working properly and crews will have to repair it.
The streets director tells News 4 the city wanted to get out and test it right away so that it will operate when needed.
City sirens get tested the first Monday of every month.
