ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – One suspect is in custody and three others are on the loose after they allegedly carjacked two women in a north St. Louis neighborhood late Wednesday night.

Police say two women approached officers in the 4100 block of Kossuth to report their Pontiac Grand Prix was carjacked by five suspects, who were armed with a handgun.

The victims told police they were leaving a house when the suspects approached the women and demanded their vehicle at gunpoint.

Three suspects fled the scene in the Grand Prix with two other suspects leaving in a Ford Mustang. No one was injured during the incident.

Officers in the area later spotted a vehicle matching the victims’ description and began to pursue it. After running the vehicle’s plate, officers learned the Mustang was reportedly stolen.

Police say the officers pursued the stolen car until it turned into a gated parking lot located at 4400 Floriss. Two suspects fled on foot after becoming trapped inside the parking lot.

After a quick foot chase, a 17-year-old male suspect was taken into custody. He reportedly had a 9mm handgun in his possession at the time of the arrest. The passenger was able to run from the scene, he is still on the loose.

Authorities are actively searching for four suspects still on the run. Three of those suspects were last seen inside the stolen Grand Prix.
